Mauricio Pochettino holds talks with AC Milan leadership

USMNT manager Mauricio Pochettino has reportedly met with AC Milan executives to discuss their vacant head coaching role.

USMNT manager Mauricio Pochettino held a meeting with the AC Milan hierarchy before his team began their training camp in Atlanta this week. The Italian club has identified the Argentine coach as a potential candidate for their head coaching vacancy following the departure of Max Allegri, who left after the team failed to secure a spot in the Champions League.

Pochettino's current contract with the U.S. national team is set to expire after this summer's World Cup. While he suggested in March that he was open to remaining in his post, he has frequently been linked with high-profile European vacancies, including previous reported interest from Brentford and Manchester United.

Should he take the job at San Siro, Pochettino would be reunited with U.S. internationals Christian Pulisic and Yunus Musah. Despite the speculation, the players maintain that the manager's future has not become a distraction.

"No, it doesn't bother us. I think I'm someone who lives in present day, and right now he's here, and we're working with him, so it's an amazing feeling having such a prestigious coach coaching us. Whatever he decides to do after us is what the coach decides," said Tim Weah.

Pochettino remains committed to the upcoming World Cup. The U.S. team is currently in training and will play two warm-up friendlies before their tournament opener against Paraguay on June 12.
