FIFA's disciplinary committee has issued significant sanctions following the post-match altercations that occurred after the 2026 World Cup final, where Argentina were defeated 1-0 by Spain.
Midfielder Leandro Paredes has been handed a 10-match suspension for his involvement in the on-field clashes immediately following the final whistle. Teammate Nahuel Molina has also been suspended for seven matches.
In addition to player bans, the Argentine national team has been ordered to play their next two home matches behind closed doors, although one match of this sanction remains suspended.
