Former Scotland striker Kenny Miller has been appointed as the permanent head coach of Maccabi Tel Aviv. The 46-year-old takes the role full-time after a successful spell as caretaker, which included leading the team to victory in the Israeli State Cup final against Hapoel Be'er Sheva.
Miller has signed a one-year contract with the club, which includes an option to extend for a further season. He is joined by his fellow Scot Stuart Taylor, who has left his assistant position at St Mirren to take up the role.
"From the moment I arrived at the club, I felt the passion, ambition and expectations that make Maccabi such a special place." — Kenny Miller
Miller joined Maccabi in January alongside Ronny Deila, having worked with him at Atlanta United. He stepped up as the team boss following the departure of the former Celtic manager in May. Club owner Mitch Goldhar praised Miller's professionalism and work ethic, stating that he has earned the respect of everyone at the club.
For Stuart Taylor, this move reunites him with Miller in a coaching capacity. Taylor, a former midfielder for Airdrieonians and St Mirren, brings previous managerial experience from his time at Limerick and Hamilton Academical. St Mirren confirmed that they are currently working on adding to their coaching staff following Taylor's departure.
