Brazil secured their spot in the Round of 16 of the World Cup following a dramatic comeback win against Japan. Trailing in the match, the Seleção equalized through Casemiro before Gabriel Martinelli scored a 95th-minute winner to clinch a 2-1 victory. The team now prepares to face Norway this Sunday.
Despite reaching the knockout stage, Carlo Ancelotti's tactical choices have faced scrutiny. In an interview with Folha de S. Paulo, the Italian manager addressed his critics directly: "I don't know if I understand football or not, but nobody can judge me for it. I have prepared for more than 1,400 matches. That is good experience." Ancelotti maintained that he only respects one authority: "Only one person has prepared more matches than me: Alex Ferguson, who had over 2,000 games. I take advice from everyone, but the only person who can really give me advice is Sir Alex."
Assessing the upcoming test against Norway, Ancelotti described them as a physically strong side with an organized defense. He emphasized that Erling Haaland will be handled through a collective defensive effort rather than man-marking. Furthermore, the coach confirmed that Neymar is fully fit to play, despite the player's frustration over his limited minutes.
The squad remains united behind their manager. Endrick praised the harmony within the group, while Douglas Santos noted that Ancelotti's calmness during the halftime break against Japan was pivotal in fueling their comeback determination.
