Sandro Wagner appointed as new Hannover head coach
German coach Sandro Wagner has taken charge of Hannover, signing a contract until the summer of 2028.

Sandro Wagner has been officially appointed as the new head coach of Hannover. The 38-year-old German tactician has signed a long-term deal with the club that runs until June 30, 2028.
This move marks a return to club management for Wagner. He previously served on the coaching staff of the Germany national team, where he joined Julian Nagelsmann in 2023, helping the team prepare for major international tournaments, including the home UEFA Euro 2024.
Wagner brings prior experience as a head coach, most notably with Unterhaching, whom he led to a regional league title and promotion to the third tier of German football. His most recent role was at Augsburg, where he worked until December 2025.
