Kylian Mbappé settles legal fee dispute following PSG case
The forward agreed to an additional 1.5 million euro payment after a disagreement with lawyers regarding fees for the case against his former club.
A conflict emerged within Kylian Mbappé's legal team regarding service payments following his high-profile legal battle with PSG. According to L’Équipe, the lawyers who assisted the forward in securing unpaid wages from his former club later approached the bar council over a fee dispute.
In December 2025, a Paris labor court ordered PSG to pay the player 61 million euros in outstanding wages and bonuses. The legal team involved included Pierre-Olivier Sur, Thomas Clay, and Frédéric Casséro. Reports suggest they had discussed a performance-based bonus with the player's mother, Fayza Lamari, should the court award more than 55 million euros, but a formal agreement was never signed.
Although the lawyers initially requested 6.2 million euros, the dispute ended in a compromise: the parties agreed on an additional payment of 1.5 million euros on top of the base fees. Mbappé's camp denied allegations of refusing to pay, stating the player wanted to avoid being treated as a "cash cow" for consultants.
The dispute unfolds amid broader changes in the forward's inner circle. This summer, Mbappé ended his ten-year professional relationship with lawyer Delphine Verheyden, who had previously managed his contracts and commercial affairs.
