Erik Lira's agent meets with Valencia management
The representative of Mexican midfielder Erik Lira has held meetings with the leadership of La Liga club Valencia.
Midfielder Cruz Azul Erik Lira is once again linked with a move to Europe. His representative, Tarek Sebiat, was spotted at the training facilities of Valencia, where he held a brief meeting with the club's sporting director, Braulio Vazquez.
Interest in the Mexican international remains active following his failed summer move to AS Monaco, which collapsed due to non-EU player registration issues. While there has been no official statement regarding the nature of the talks in Paterna, the meeting has naturally sparked speculation about a potential transfer.
New Valencia head coach Javier Aguirre has openly praised Lira, recently describing him as a "sensational player." However, Aguirre remained cautious when asked about a potential reunion, stating that he could not comment on specific transfer operations.
According to Transfermarkt, Lira is currently valued at 14 million euros, following a rise in his market value during his time with Cruz Azul and his national team appearances. While his current contract runs until 2029, the club is reportedly open to a sale if an appropriate offer arrives.
