Catalan side Barcelona continues to look for ways to balance its defense, which has frequently struggled under the high defensive line implemented by head coach Hans-Dieter Flick. The club's management, led by sporting director Deco, has defined a clear set of requirements for potential central defender signings ahead of the upcoming winter transfer window.
The priority for the 'Blaugrana' is to secure a loan deal until the end of the season, preferably with a purchase option included. Alternatively, the club is exploring the possibility of signing a free agent to avoid heavy transfer fees.
Regarding permanent signings, Barcelona will only be able to commit to such deals if they generate funds by selling players from the current squad. All transfer activity will remain subject to strict financial limits imposed by La Liga, which govern both transfer fees and player wage structures.
