LaLiga reschedules Barcelona and Real Madrid matches to December
Due to the 2027 Spanish Super Cup, matches for Barcelona, Real Madrid, Atletico, and Real Sociedad have been moved to December 2.

LaLiga has officially confirmed a significant adjustment to the 2026-2027 season schedule affecting Spain's top clubs. Due to the upcoming 2027 Spanish Super Cup in Istanbul, matches for Barcelona, Real Madrid, Atletico Madrid, and Real Sociedad have been moved forward to December 2, 2026.
The change was necessitated by scheduling conflicts, as the tournament in Turkey is set to take place from February 2 to February 7, 2027, overlapping with the original date for Matchday 23. By utilizing the gap created by these four teams' exemption from the second round of the Copa del Rey in early December, league officials have found an opening to clear the fixture list.
The rescheduled matches on December 2 are as follows:
Real Sociedad vs. Real Madrid (12:00 PM Mexico City time)
Barcelona vs. Atletico Madrid (2:30 PM Mexico City time)
These results will be recorded in the general standings immediately upon completion. This will create temporary discrepancies in the number of matches played by each team, potentially impacting the league table before the end of the year.
