Tite appointed as new Botafogo head coach
Experienced Brazilian manager Tite has been named the new head coach of Botafogo. The deal with the 65-year-old manager runs until the end of the 2028 season.

Botafogo has officially confirmed the appointment of Tite as the club's new head coach. The 65-year-old Brazilian manager has signed a contract that will run until the conclusion of the 2028 season.
Tite's most recent position was at Cruzeiro, where he served from December last year until March 2026, when he was dismissed due to poor results. Throughout his career, he has managed 13 different Brazilian clubs, as well as Al-Ain and Al-Wahda. His most high-profile role was leading the Brazil national team from 2016 to 2022.
Currently, Botafogo sits in 11th place in the Brazilian championship table, having collected 35 points from 27 matches. The club hopes that the arrival of such an experienced tactician will help turn their campaign around.
The team's next fixture is against Mirassol, scheduled for September 19 at 23:00.
