Wrexham forward Nathan Broadhead has been ruled out of the upcoming Wales international camp after sustaining a thigh injury in training. The 28-year-old was initially selected in Craig Bellamy's 28-man squad for the Nations League fixtures against Portugal, Norway, and Denmark.
Confirming the news, Wrexham manager Phil Parkinson stated that the injury, while minor, will prevent the forward from playing for both club and country in the coming weeks. Consequently, Broadhead will be unavailable for Wrexham's Championship fixture against Southampton at the Racecourse Ground this Saturday.
"Broady has strained his thigh in training, which is a shame because he was training well," Parkinson said. "That's going to keep him out for the weekend."
While Broadhead's absence is a blow, Parkinson provided positive updates on other squad members. Both Josh Windass and Ben Sheaf are back in contention to face Southampton. Windass has had a strong training week following his recent absence, while midfielder Sheaf is available after recovering from a persistent knee issue.
