Brazilian club Cruzeiro has turned down an official offer from Shakhtar Donetsk for their 18-year-old talent Felipe Morais, valued at 14.5 million euros.
Cruzeiro has officially turned down an approach from Shakhtar Donetsk for young midfielder Felipe Morais. The Ukrainian club submitted a proposal worth 12.5 million euros in fixed fees, with an additional 2 million euros tied to performance-based targets.
The 18-year-old is considered one of Cruzeiro's most valuable prospects. Club management decided to reject the bid, believing that the player's market value will continue to rise significantly. The player remains focused on his work at the club, and his staff is in no rush to force a move to European football.
Felipe Morais turned professional this season and signed a contract running until 2029. Before the interest from Shakhtar, reports had previously linked the midfielder with monitoring from Chelsea.
Any club wishing to secure the teenager's services would likely need to consider his 100-million-euro release clause. Morais has already gained international experience, having featured in eight matches for Brazil during the U-17 World Cup campaign.
