Inter Milan kicked off their new Italian league campaign with an emphatic 4-1 victory over Monza. The hosts opened the scoring as early as the sixth minute through Hakan Calhanoglu. Although Gustavo Varela leveled the score before halftime, Inter regained control shortly after the break.
Piotr Zielinski put the home side back in front in the 48th minute, followed by a brace from Francesco Pio Esposito, which secured the dominant result. The win marks a strong start for the Inter squad as they look to assert their dominance early in the season.
In the day's other fixture, Udinese and Como were held to a 1-1 draw in their season opener. Hassane Kamara gave the hosts the lead in the first half, but Anastasios Douvikas restored parity immediately after the restart in the 46th minute, with neither side able to find a winner afterward.
