After a difficult week involving three consecutive defeats, Celtic manager Martin O'Neill has confirmed he will remain in his position. The 74-year-old had previously admitted he would review his future following losses to Rangers and a Europa League setback against Ferencvaros.
Speaking to the club's website, O'Neill expressed his firm intent to continue:
I am. I'm extremely prepared for it. We had a difficult week. It can happen, you can lose to your arch-rivals, you can lose a European game. It's certainly not the end of the world, as it seemed to be described. But (I'm) ready to go. Martin O'Neill
The manager explained that the brief time away allowed him to evaluate recent performances and refocus for the remainder of the campaign. He reiterated that his primary ambition to win the league title remains unchanged.
O'Neill emphasized the importance of self-analysis during tough runs, noting that the margins in their recent defeats were incredibly thin. He highlighted that an equalizer against Rangers would have significantly altered the outcome of that match.
Celtic returns to action against Motherwell at Fir Park this Sunday. The manager hopes to have a stronger squad available, with Jota, Alistair Johnston, and Callum Osmand returning to training following recent injuries.
