Prosper Obah replaces injured Pedrinho in Shakhtar's Champions League squad
Following successful surgery on his hamstring, the Brazilian midfielder is set for a long recovery, leading the club to register Prosper Obah for the Champions League.

UEFA has officially approved changes to Shakhtar Donetsk's squad for the 2026/27 Champions League league phase. Due to a severe injury, the club has replaced 28-year-old Brazilian midfielder Pedrinho with 22-year-old Nigerian winger Prosper Obah.
The squad change follows a hamstring injury sustained by Pedrinho during the away match against Inter Milan in the third round. The injury was significant enough to require surgery, which the player has already successfully undergone in Finland.
With a lengthy rehabilitation process ahead, head coach Arda Turan and his staff opted to use UEFA regulations to register a replacement player. Before his injury, Pedrinho had made a strong impact with 3 goals and 2 assists in 7 appearances this season.
Currently, Shakhtar sit 17th in the Champions League standings with 4 points from three matches. The team is now preparing for their next fixture on November 3 against Sporting CP, which will be played at Stamford Bridge in London.
