Inter Milan have confirmed a significant injury blow ahead of their upcoming fixtures. Defender Benjamin Pavard is set for a spell on the sidelines.
The club medical staff diagnosed the French defender with a pulled adductor muscle in his right thigh. He is expected to be out of action for approximately three weeks. As a result, Pavard will miss the upcoming Champions League fixture against Shakhtar Donetsk on October 21.
This adds to the defensive concerns for the Italian side, as it was previously reported that their captain will also be unavailable for the meeting with the Ukrainian club due to injury.
Currently leading Serie A with 19 points from seven matches, Inter face a demanding schedule in the coming weeks, which also includes the derby against AC Milan on October 31.
