Tottenham manager Roberto De Zerbi has confirmed that midfielder James Maddison is available for Saturday's clash against Crystal Palace. Concerns regarding the 29-year-old's fitness arose after he was substituted in the 51st minute during the club's 2-0 win over Chelsea.
De Zerbi explained that while Maddison missed some training sessions this week, he is ready to feature. The manager highlighted the need for careful management for players returning from long-term injuries but insisted that Maddison remains a vital component of the Spurs squad.
This week he didn't work like the other players, but for tomorrow he is available and he is a special player for us. Roberto De Zerbi
For Tottenham, Maddison's return is a welcome boost as they look to climb from 14th place in the Premier League. Since Maddison rejoined the starting lineup, the team has secured victories against Coventry and Chelsea. The coaching staff will now evaluate the final risk before deciding on his involvement for the match.
