Inter defender Carlos Augusto has reflected on his team's hard-fought 1-0 victory over Shakhtar Donetsk in the Champions League. The Italian side managed to secure the result despite being forced to play with ten men for a significant portion of the match.
The player highlighted the collective effort behind the decisive moment of the game. He praised the contribution of Henrikh Mkhitaryan for the assist and Piotr Zielinski for his involvement in the build-up.
It was a very important goal. Henrikh Mkhitaryan provided a great assist, but Piotr Zielinski also played wonderfully at the start of that attack. I want to congratulate all my teammates. It is never easy when you are down to ten men. Carlos Augusto
Augusto emphasized that every match in the Champions League demands maximum focus, particularly when facing opponents with the speed and technical quality that Shakhtar possesses. He noted that in the current climate of the tournament, converting chances into results is just as vital as maintaining control of the game.
