Following a dominant 3-0 victory over Valencia, Real Madrid under Jose Mourinho have hit their best form of the season. The team has secured eight consecutive wins across all competitions, allowing them to close the gap at the top of the league table and maintain a perfect record in the Champions League after four matchdays.
Manager Jose Mourinho is clearly pleased with the team's current development. The Portuguese coach noted that this squad bears little resemblance to the one that struggled at the start of the season. According to Mourinho, the players have finally found the right balance, with each individual contributing to a cohesive unit.
This team is showing a great evolution. They are responding as a team in a spectacular way, and it smells good to me. Jose Mourinho
Tactical adjustments, including positioning Federico Valverde more centrally and improved defensive discipline from Arda Guler and others, have allowed Jude Bellingham to focus more on his offensive duties without carrying the team's defensive burden alone. This shift has resulted in a more balanced and collective performance from the squad.
Mourinho is now set to watch the high-stakes encounter between Atletico and Barcelona. While he previously joked that he would prefer both teams to lose, he can now watch the game with a sense of calm, knowing that his team has already done their job on the pitch this week.
