France's qualification for the World Cup semifinals has brought more than just sporting success; it has provided a vital financial cushion for the French Football Federation (FFF). By securing a spot among the final four, the federation has guaranteed at least 27 million dollars in prize money from FIFA.

This figure is bolstered by an additional 2.5 million dollars allocated by FIFA to cover team preparation expenses. This amount was increased following requests from various federations, particularly those from Europe.

Reaching the semifinal stage was considered essential internally to balance the books for the tournament. FFF president Philippe Diallo had previously admitted that many federations were struggling to break even during this World Cup, emphasizing that reaching the later stages was necessary to avoid financial losses.

The FFF's original budget for the 2026/2027 season was based on a quarterfinal finish. Consequently, the victory over Morocco has allowed the federation to exceed its initial financial planning projections.

The total prize money will continue to increase depending on the final placement: a third-place finish would result in 29 million dollars, a loss in the final would bring 33 million, and winning the tournament would guarantee 50 million dollars.
