Bruno Barbier, a key figure in French sports business and a former employee of PSG, has passed away at the age of 65 following a long illness. Throughout his career, he remained deeply connected to the evolution of his beloved club.

During his time as marketing director in the 1990s under former club president Michel Denisot, Barbier left a lasting mark on the matchday experience. He was the driving force behind the 1993 introduction of the Pet Shop Boys hit «Go West» at the Parc des Princes. The track remains a staple of the club's post-match celebrations and even featured in a special recording with players and Carlo Ancelotti during the early QSI era.

Bruno did a lot for the club, which he joined in the early 1990s with Canal+. He accompanied the development of PSG with elegance, initiating the 'Go West' anthem and the development of the club's journal and many other operations. He was very involved in the life of the club. He was a pleasant person, and we remained in contact until recently. His passing saddens me greatly. Michel Denisot

Beyond his tenure at PSG, Barbier held notable positions at Eurosport, Lagardère Sport, and PMU. In recent years, he founded the Sportbusiness-club, a media outlet dedicated to the economics of sport.
