FIFA sells grass fragments from 2026 World Cup Final for up to $3,000
FIFA has launched a collection of encapsulated grass fragments from the 2026 World Cup Final stadium, with prices ranging from $450 to $3,000.

FIFA has introduced a unique way to monetize the 2026 World Cup Final, set to take place on July 19 at the stadium in New York/New Jersey. The organization is selling small, resin-encapsulated fragments of the pitch used during the title-deciding match.
Each piece will be extracted from the field after the final whistle and preserved in acrylic casing. The items include an engraved plaque with the match details and a USB drive containing a certificate of authenticity. Production is handled by the British firm Keep Stub.
There are four tiers of collectibles ranging from $450 to $3,000. Each edition is limited to 2,026 units, giving FIFA the potential to generate over $11 million in revenue if all items are sold. Current availability is restricted to buyers in the United States, United Kingdom, and select European nations.
The premium "Hero Edition," priced at $3,000, offers a larger piece of turf along with a gold-engraved metal ticket, a miniature replica of the final's match ball, and a crystal trophy inspired by the World Cup.
The pitch itself has faced scrutiny during the tournament. Players from nations including France and Brazil previously criticized the surface for being too dry, which reportedly hindered the flow of play in earlier matches held at the venue.
