Scotland goalkeeper Craig Gordon is poised to make history as the oldest player at this summer's World Cup. Despite his achievement at 43 years of age, the veteran will not serve as the team's primary choice, having been assigned the number 21 shirt in the official squad list.
Angus Gunn has been handed the number one jersey, with Liam Kelly taking number 12. These squad number assignments leave room for speculation regarding head coach Steve Clarke's final decisions for his starting line-up as the tournament approaches.
The squad has also seen a late change, with Manchester United teenager Tyler Fletcher taking the number eight shirt as a surprise replacement for the injured Billy Gilmour. Other notable assignments include Lyndon Dykes at number nine, Che Adams at 10, and Lawrence Shankland at 20.
Scotland have arrived in the US to finalize their preparations. They are scheduled to play their final warm-up match against Bolivia this Saturday, before opening their tournament campaign against Haiti on 14 June in Boston.
