Brazil head coach Carlo Ancelotti has publicly backed Vinicius Jr following Brazil's 4-2 win against Australia. Despite criticism regarding the winger's recent form, the manager insisted that the player remains fundamental to his project.
During the match at Suncorp Stadium, Vinicius converted a crucial penalty in the 80th minute to help secure the result. Ancelotti emphasized that he would remain patient with the forward, noting that Vinicius has earned the right to work through his current dip in performance levels.
The match was a testing encounter for the South American side, who fell behind early before goals from Vanderson, Bruno Guimaraes, and Vinicius eventually turned the game around.
Meanwhile, there is significant concern at Barcelona regarding Raphinha. The forward was substituted at halftime for Endrick after feeling discomfort in his right thigh. Ancelotti clarified that the change was precautionary, stating that the player did not believe he was injured, though further medical scans will determine his availability for the upcoming period.
