Spanish side Sevilla are looking to finalize their attacking lineup by pursuing a loan move for Chelsea striker Marc Guiu. The 20-year-old has emerged as a prime target for the Andalusian club as they seek to add depth to their forward options.
The situation at Stamford Bridge has shifted rapidly for the youngster, who has been left without a squad number for the current campaign. This decision has effectively signaled that he is not in the club's immediate plans, prompting his representatives to seek a new destination.
Sevilla have long monitored the former Barcelona academy graduate, with initial interest surfacing earlier in the summer. Now, the club is renewing its efforts, viewing a loan deal as a financially viable solution to bolster a squad that has seen significant turnover in the final third.
The urgent need for reinforcements follows the departures of key forwards, including Akor Adams, Alexis Sanchez, and Neal Maupay. Head coach Luis Garcia and the sporting director are keen to add another natural goalscorer to compete with recent signing Robbie Ure and Isaac Romero.
A temporary return to his homeland could provide the ideal platform for Guiu to regain form. While his time in England saw him make 29 appearances for the Blues, scoring eight goals, a move to La Liga now appears to be his most likely path to regular first-team football.
