Serge Gnabry is finally poised to make his long-awaited comeback for Bayern Munich after spending five months on the sidelines. The 31-year-old attacker has not featured in a competitive fixture since April 15, when he appeared against Real Madrid in the Champions League.
A severe muscular injury in the adductor region forced the German international out of action for an extended period, ruling him out of summer international duty. After being named in the squad for the recent clash against SV Elversberg, the coaching staff have cleared him for a return to competitive football.
We waited a long time for Serge to give the signal that he feels good. I reckon that he will get minutes against Union. Vincent Kompany
Head coach Vincent Kompany emphasized the tactical value Gnabry brings to the team, highlighting his ability to transition between central and wide attacking roles. With the winger now available, Kompany has a full squad at his disposal, providing a significant boost to the team's ambitions in the Bundesliga.
