Former Belgium head coach Rudi Garcia, who left his post at the end of July following the conclusion of his 18-month contract, has opened up about his decision to depart. Despite a successful run at the 2026 World Cup, where the Red Devils reached the quarter-finals, the 62-year-old manager opted not to extend his tenure.

Currently residing in Rome, the coach explained that he sought to avoid complacency. He has already taken the time to evaluate and politely decline at least one offer from another national team since becoming available on the market.
Garcia has since been succeeded by Dutch coach Mark van Bommel, who has taken over the reins of the Belgian national side.
