Premier League side Ipswich Town have officially announced the signing of two players from French club Strasbourg — winger Julio Enciso and midfielder Abdoul Ouattara. Both players have signed five-year contracts with the club.
The total value of this double deal, including bonuses, could reach £47.3 million. A significant factor in the move was the fact that both players are already well-acquainted with the requirements of head coach Gary O'Neil, having recently worked under him in France.
I am so happy to return to Ipswich Town. I really enjoyed my time on loan at the club, and I was happy to see them return to the Premier League last season. Julio Enciso
For Enciso, this marks a return to Portman Road following his loan spell in the 2024/2025 season. Meanwhile, 20-year-old Ouattara joins with experience from the French top flight and a run to the UEFA Europa Conference League semi-finals last term.
Following their promotion from the Championship, the Ipswich leadership is demonstrating serious intent to establish the team in the top flight. The club has already spent approximately £150 million on reinforcements, with Enciso and Ouattara becoming the twelfth summer arrivals. The newly refreshed Ipswich side begins their Premier League campaign on August 22 with a home match against Sunderland.
