Ahead of Milan's fourth Europa League group stage match against Ferencvaros, manager Ruben Amorim discussed the team's tactical philosophy and areas for improvement. The Portuguese coach emphasized that while the club has developed a clear identity built on activity and control, there is still significant work to be done.
Amorim insisted that reaching a certain level is not the endgame, stressing the need for continuous development. Despite the team's efforts to act aggressively and dominate possession, he identified a specific tactical limitation that currently hinders their performance.
We clearly lack the ability to pin opponents back into their penalty area and stay there with the ball for longer periods to create more goal-scoring opportunities. That is our biggest problem right now. Ruben Amorim
The manager noted that the team continues to adjust its formations and defensive approaches to maintain this identity. While they manage to control the game at times, the ability to sustain pressure remains the primary target for their growth this season.
