The Scotland national team is currently in the market for a new manager, with former Portugal boss Roberto Martinez emerging as a candidate. According to reports from talkSPORT, the Spanish coach is being considered as a possible successor to Steve Clarke.
Martinez recently became available after stepping down from his role with the Portugal national team. His departure followed the team's elimination from the 2026 World Cup at the hands of Spain.
Throughout his career, Martinez has managed Swansea, Wigan, Everton, and the Belgium national team. His managerial resume includes winning the 2013 FA Cup with Wigan, securing a bronze medal at the 2018 World Cup with Belgium, and leading Portugal to Nations League glory in 2025.
