Allan set for Manchester City move, misses Santos clash

Palmeiras midfielder Allan is in advanced negotiations to join Manchester City and has been ruled out of the upcoming Copa do Brasil quarter-final first leg against Santos.

The deal is worth 40 million euros, consisting of 37.5 million euros in fixed fees and 2.5 million euros in potential bonuses. As Palmeiras holds 90% of the player's economic rights, the club stands to receive approximately 36 million euros from the transaction.

This deal marks a significant financial gain for the Brazilian club, which had previously increased its stake in the player by purchasing an additional 20% of his rights from Figueirense. Allan played his final match for Palmeiras this past Sunday in a 4-1 victory over Vasco da Gama.

Head coach Abel Ferreira recently praised Allan's versatility, highlighting his rare ability to contribute both in attack and defense across the entire flank. Despite the departure, the club's board is not currently looking for a replacement, as they believe players like Jhon Arias, Mauricio, and Felipe Anderson can compensate for his absence.
