Shakhtar Donetsk has released its annual financial report, marking a significant milestone: October 11th marked exactly 30 years since Rinat Akhmetov became the club's president. In a message to supporters, he reflected on the club's journey from modest beginnings to winning 40 trophies, including the UEFA Cup.
Akhmetov emphasized that over the past three decades, the club has established itself as a globally recognized brand, despite facing extreme challenges in recent years. Due to the ongoing war triggered by Russia, the team has been forced to play away from home for 12 years, yet the president remains steadfast in his commitment to the club and its fans.
Today my ambition is even higher — to build the strongest Shakhtar in history. I will continue to give my soul and energy to the club, investing resources into its development. Rinat Akhmetov
Looking ahead, the president expressed his vision for Shakhtar to remain a club that nurtures world-class talent and competes for major European silverware. The ultimate goal remains a return to a free Ukrainian Donetsk and the iconic Donbass Arena.
