Phil Parkinson confirms Wrexham transfer plans for upcoming window
Wrexham manager Phil Parkinson admits the club is working on new signings to ensure they remain competitive in the Championship next season.
After concluding their first campaign in the second tier for 43 years with a commendable seventh-place finish, Wrexham manager Phil Parkinson is already looking toward the future. Despite a successful season, the manager insists that further improvements are necessary to maintain their standing at the competitive end of the Championship.
Parkinson has been transparent about the club's intent to bring in new faces, though he remains discreet regarding specific targets. "We are working on the template for how we want the squad to look for next season and work towards building the squad to be competitive again," the manager explained. "Of course there are going to be some incoming players, how many we will have to wait and see."
The positive side of it is that we built a competitive Championship squad and we go into the summer with that. We have got to improve the squad as well and we will be looking to do that. Phil Parkinson
Under the ownership of Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney, the club’s recruitment strategy has been characterized by meticulous planning. Parkinson noted that the scouting department has been monitoring potential upgrades for months, regardless of the league status. The goal is to build a squad capable of handling the physical demands of a 46-game season.
The club showed their willingness to invest throughout the year with winter additions like Zak Vyner, Davis Keillor-Dunn, and Bailey Cadamarteri. As the summer window approaches, the management team aims to keep their recruitment strategy internal while focusing on the clear pathway defined for the upcoming campaign.
