Shakhtar Donetsk Brazilian midfielder Pedrinho has successfully undergone surgery on his hip. The procedure took place on Thursday, October 29, at a medical clinic in Finland.

The 28-year-old sustained a serious muscle injury during the Champions League match against Inter Milan, which ended in a narrow 1-0 defeat for the Ukrainian side. The complexity of the injury required immediate surgical intervention.

While the club has not disclosed an exact recovery timeline, initial projections indicate that Pedrinho will miss the remainder of 2026, with his return to competitive action anticipated for 2027.

This season, Pedrinho has been a vital part of the Shakhtar squad, having recorded three goals and two assists in seven appearances across all competitions prior to his injury. His contract with the Donetsk outfit runs until the summer of 2029.

As the midfielder begins his rehabilitation, Shakhtar remains focused on their domestic campaign. The team currently shares the top spot in the Ukrainian Premier League with 25 points from ten matches and is set to face Obolon tomorrow, October 30.
