Michael Carrick downplayed injury concerns after Mason Mount was substituted during Manchester United's 1-1 draw with PSG.
Manchester United supporters held their breath on Saturday when Mason Mount was forced off early during the 1-1 draw against Paris Saint-Germain in Gothenburg. The 27-year-old, whose tenure at Old Trafford has been frequently interrupted by fitness setbacks, lasted less than 20 minutes before being replaced by youngster Tyler Fletcher.
Since his high-profile transfer from Chelsea in 2023, Mount has struggled to maintain momentum due to recurring injuries, starting just 25 Premier League matches out of a possible 114 during his time at the club.
Manager Michael Carrick moved quickly to allay fears regarding the midfielder's condition, clarifying that the decision to withdraw him was purely precautionary:

Footage shared by journalists after the match showed the midfielder walking freely toward the team coach, indicating the problem is not as severe as initially feared. This result serves as another step in United’s pre-season as they approach their Premier League opener against Hull City on August 22.
Reflecting on the performance against the European champions, where Bryan Mbeumo scored for United, Carrick told MUTV:
