Manchester United have added Al-Ahli striker Ivan Toney to their list of potential transfer targets for the January window. The English club is monitoring the 30-year-old's situation and evaluating the possibility of bringing him back to the Premier League.
The interest stems from a pressing need to reinforce the attacking line. With Benjamin Sesko currently sidelined due to injury, the club's leadership is exploring several candidates for the center-forward position.
Toney fits the club's requirements thanks to his proven experience in the English top flight and consistent goalscoring record. This season in the Saudi Pro League, he has been in excellent form, netting 12 goals in nine matches. Before moving to the Middle East, he established himself as a prolific striker at Brentford, scoring 20 league goals in the 2022/23 season, trailing only Erling Haaland and Harry Kane.
Despite the interest, securing the transfer could prove difficult. Toney has previously spoken positively about life in Saudi Arabia and has shown little public desire to return to England. His potential move back to the Premier League will likely depend on whether Manchester United can present a sufficiently compelling sporting project.
