Manchester United interested in Atletico Madrid midfielder Pablo Barrios

Manchester United are exploring the possibility of signing Atletico Madrid midfielder Pablo Barrios. According to TEAMtalk, the English club has made an initial inquiry regarding the 23-year-old Spaniard, although interest remains at an early stage, and no formal negotiations have begun.

Scouts have been particularly impressed by Barrios following his performance in the recent Champions League match against Manchester United, where he opened the scoring within the first minute of a 2-0 victory for the Spanish side.

A potential deal appears complicated as Barrios is tied to Atletico until June 2030, with a release clause set at 500 million euros. The club currently has no intention of selling and would only entertain serious offers.

United face significant competition for the player's signature. Paris Saint-Germain are considered a strong suitor, with head coach Luis Enrique reportedly holding the player in high regard. Arsenal and Liverpool are also tracking his progress, while Manchester City have previously expressed interest.

Having joined Atletico's youth structure in 2017, Barrios has become an integral part of Diego Simeone's squad since his debut in 2023. He has now made over 150 appearances for the club and earned international caps for Spain, showcasing a well-rounded ability to defend and contribute in the final third.
