Liverpool have not given up on the pursuit of Stankovic following a failed attempt to secure the player during the summer. The discussions occurred during the negotiations that ultimately led to midfielder Curtis Jones joining Inter from the Reds.
During those talks, Liverpool proposed a loan deal with a significant obligation to buy at the end of the season. However, the offer was rejected by Inter, and the player ultimately chose to remain in Milan, aiming to fulfill his dream of playing for the club at the San Siro.
The Reds have since promoted Trey Nyoni to the first team as they continue to develop their own internal talent. Nonetheless, the club is keeping a close watch on Stankovic's progress. Liverpool are evaluating how much playing time he receives under Cristian Chivu and are assessing their chances of securing his signature before the summer of 2027.
