Liverpool plot move for Djed Spence as Tottenham set price tag

Liverpool manager Andoni Iraola is scouting for defensive reinforcements, with Tottenham defender Djed Spence emerging as a primary target. The 25-year-old impressed during the 2026 World Cup, helping England secure a third-place finish.

After navigating several loan spells at Rennes, Leeds United, and Genoa, the full-back finally established himself at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium late in the 2025-26 campaign. However, under Roberto De Zerbi, his future in North London remains uncertain as the manager prioritizes other options in the full-back role.

Tottenham are reportedly open to a sale but have set an asking price in the region of £35 million. With Spence tied to a contract until 2028, the club maintains a strong negotiating position.

The race for his signature is complicated by interest from Inter Milan. The Italian giants have identified Spence as a priority target to replace Denzel Dumfries, who recently departed for Real Madrid. Inter are eager to secure a replacement for Cristian Chivu’s system and have already initiated discussions with the player's representatives.
