France have cruised into the 2026 World Cup semi-finals after a 2-0 victory over Morocco in the quarter-finals. Star forward Kylian Mbappe was once again at the heart of the action, contributing both a goal and an assist.

With this performance, Mbappe has reached 11 goal contributions (8 goals, 3 assists) in the current tournament. This milestone makes him the first player in history to record at least ten goal contributions in two consecutive World Cups, having tallied 11 (8 goals, 2 assists) during the 2022 tournament.

In addition to his scoring feats, Mbappe has equaled the record for the most World Cup appearances for the French national team, drawing level with Hugo Lloris on 20 matches each.

The attacking prowess of the French squad was further highlighted as Kylian Mbappe (8 goals) and Ousmane Dembele (5 goals) became the first teammates since 2002 to score at least five goals each in a single tournament. The previous duo to achieve this feat were Brazil's Ronaldo and Rivaldo.
