Defender Johan Vásquez proved decisive for Genoa once again, scoring the only goal in a 1-0 win against FC Sudtirol to secure a place in the last 16 of the Coppa Italia.
Vásquez entered the pitch as a substitute in the 80th minute, replacing Sebastián Otoa. Just seven minutes later, the Mexican international connected with a corner kick from the right, finding the back of the net with a precise header from inside the box.
The late intervention ensured Genoa's progression in the Italian cup competition.
