Fluminense is working behind the scenes to arrange two friendly matches during the 2026 World Cup break to maintain match fitness.
Fluminense is working to organize two friendly matches during the pause caused by the 2026 World Cup. The club is currently in negotiations to face São Paulo and America-RJ.
The discussions involve the participation of Superbet, the main sponsor of all three clubs, although formal agreements have not yet been signed. The goal is to use this inter-season period to keep the squad in rhythm before resuming the Brazilian Championship, Copa do Brasil, and Copa Libertadores campaigns.
The match against São Paulo has been under discussion for a few days and could take place at the Maracanã, with July 12th being one of the dates under consideration. Meanwhile, the fixture against America-RJ depends on scheduling adjustments, as the club is still active in three concurrent competitions. July 8th is currently the most likely target date for this match.
If confirmed, these friendlies could mark the first opportunity for the fans to see recent signing Hulk in action. The Fluminense squad is currently on vacation, with players scheduled to report back to the Carlos Castilho training center on June 23rd.
