A product of the club's youth system, Paulinho was previously considered a promising talent. He made his professional debut last November and was on the radar of Dorival Júnior's coaching staff. However, his status changed recently after he was excluded from the main training group during the mid-season break, and the club shifted from initial loan plans to a permanent transfer.
