Euro 2026 U-17: Denmark secures victory over Montenegro in opener
Denmark U17 started their UEFA European Under-17 Championship campaign in Estonia with a 2-1 win against Montenegro.
The UEFA European Under-17 Championship 2026, currently hosted in Estonia, has completed its opening round of matches. In Group B, Denmark secured a hard-fought 2-1 victory against Montenegro in Tallinn.
The Danes took the lead in the 19th minute through Mikkel Bro Hansen, but Mark Djokaj equalized for Montenegro before halftime. The deciding goal was scored by Omran Khatar in the 76th minute to seal the win for Denmark.
In the other Group B match, Italy defeated France 1-0. Following the first round, Denmark and Italy top the group with three points each, while Montenegro and France currently have zero.
Elsewhere in the tournament, Belgium defeated Croatia 2-0, while Spain recorded a dominant 4-1 victory over tournament hosts Estonia.
