Deportivo forward Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang is enjoying a prolific start to his campaign in the Spanish top flight. By scoring against Getafe in the 5th round, the 37-year-old striker extended his scoring streak that has lasted since the opening matchday.

This goal places Aubameyang in an exclusive group of players who have scored in each of their first five La Liga matches of a season in the 21st century. Previously, this feat was achieved by only two others: Walter Pandiani, who also represented Deportivo during the 2003/04 season, and Zlatan Ibrahimović, who performed similarly for Barcelona six years later.

In total, the experienced forward has recorded five goals and two assists in his five league appearances so far. Aubameyang joined Deportivo this summer, completing a transfer from French side Marseille for a fee of 1.5 million euros.
