Eduardo Camavinga set for Real Madrid start in Champions League
The French midfielder returns to the Real Madrid starting XI against AEK Athens following a strong performance in El Clásico.
Real Madrid midfielder Eduardo Camavinga is set to return to the starting XI for the Champions League away match against AEK Athens. Manager Jose Mourinho has confirmed the Frenchman will start, marking his fourth appearance in the starting lineup this season.
After alternating between the bench and the starting side, Camavinga has earned his spot through consistent work at Valdebebas and a standout sprint in El Clásico, where he set up Kylian Mbappé for his second goal against Barcelona.
"What I did in Barcelona will be forgotten, and I will have to keep doing it in other matches," admitted Eduardo Camavinga.
The early part of the season was challenging for the 24-year-old, following a sending-off against Bayern Munich and missing out on the international squad. Camavinga has emphasized that he has focused on improving his physical and mental discipline to recapture the form that made him one of Europe's most promising talents.
In his previous Champions League appearance against RB Leipzig, the midfielder recorded a 93% passing accuracy and covered nearly 12 kilometers. As he prepares to face AEK, Camavinga remains focused on achieving the consistency required to secure a permanent place in the team.
