Dynamo Kyiv has officially announced the departure of head coach Igor Kostyuk. The decision was made by club president Ihor Surkis following a disappointing 1-3 defeat in the 9th round of the Ukrainian Premier League against Polissya.

The result was particularly frustrating as the Kyiv side played with a numerical advantage from the 7th minute but failed to capitalize on the opportunity. During his tenure, Kostyuk managed 36 official matches, securing 23 wins, 3 draws, and 10 losses.

46-year-old Polish coach Maciej Kedziorek, who previously served as an assistant and analyst for the club, has been appointed as interim head coach. He will lead the team in the upcoming fixtures, including the 10th round match scheduled for October 23.

The change comes after a challenging period for the club. Despite winning the Ukrainian Cup in the 2025/26 season, Dynamo finished only 4th in the league last season and suffered early exits from both the Europa League and the Conference League in the summer of 2026. Dynamo currently sits 3rd in the table, trailing league leaders Shakhtar by 8 points.
