The future of Atletico Madrid star Julian Alvarez remains a hot topic this summer. The 26-year-old forward has expressed his desire to leave, but his next destination remains unclear as several clubs weigh their options.
Barcelona remains the most interested party, viewing the Argentine as a priority target. However, Atletico Madrid are strongly opposed to selling him to a domestic rival, preferring an overseas transfer instead.
Arsenal were previously considered a strong contender, with reports suggesting they might use Viktor Gyokeres as a makeweight to lower the cost of signing "the Spider". Manager Mikel Arteta has now addressed this speculation, stating: "I won't talk about a player who is not from our team. I'm very happy with the team I have. Obviously we want to improve it, and the club is working on that."
Arteta confirmed that Viktor Gyokeres is set to remain under his leadership. According to reports from Spain, this is a clear sign that Arsenal have stepped back from the pursuit of Alvarez. Meanwhile, Barcelona are in no rush, as they are currently satisfied with their attacking options, which include Anthony Gordon, Karim Adeyemi, and Yann Bisseck.
