‘An easy decision’ - Alexander Isak on his Liverpool move

Alexander Isak has described his blockbuster move to Liverpool as an "easy decision". The 26-year-old forward moved from Newcastle on deadline day in September 2025 for a British-record fee of £125 million, carrying massive expectations.

His debut campaign at Anfield was difficult, as he struggled for form and was sidelined from December to April with a broken leg. Despite the challenges, the Sweden international remains adamant that he never regretted the transfer. "[Liverpool] is a massive club, and everything about the club made it pretty clear. And the club's ambition and the club's will to get me in as well," he noted.

Isak also revealed that promises made during his time at St James' Park were "broken," which ultimately paved the way for his departure. During the pre-season prior to his exit, he had to train elsewhere to maintain his fitness while his future remained uncertain.

Now fully fit, Isak has enjoyed a blistering start to the new Premier League campaign. He has already netted three times in just four league matches, matching his total output from his injury-hit debut season and proving he has moved past his early struggles.
