Liverpool midfielder Alexis Mac Allister scored a brace against Villarreal during the Champions League league phase. His goals have now established an unusual record in the competition's history.
All eight of Mac Allister's Champions League goals have been scored exclusively at Anfield. This is the highest number of goals ever scored by a player in the history of the tournament while playing at the exact same home venue.
The Argentine joined Liverpool in 2023 as a world champion. Prior to his arrival at Anfield, he played for Brighton in the Premier League, where he did not feature in the Champions League, explaining the unique nature of his current goalscoring streak.
